month of love

how is it already february?  and where did january go?  it seems like it flew by soooo fast, yet there were a couple days weeks that seemed like they lasted forever!  oh morning sickness that lasts all day, you are not loved!  however, valentine's day is loved in our house, so we like to let people know that.  we've put some v-day decor up, and this year i did make a burlap banner that was quite easy to do.  this inspired me to make it:  http://www.groopdealz.com/index/view-deal/side_deal_id/687  i just used burlap (found in the fabric section in both hobby lobby or walmart), some homemade stencils, red and black craft paint in metallic, and then red glitter paint to add some sparkle over the red hearts.  then i just cut out triangles out of the burlap, stenciled on the letters/hearts, and then hung them with tiny clothespins on thick string- all found on walmart.  easy as pie.  my kind of craft! :)

the kids' v-day artwork displayed

zoe proudly stuck these conversation hearts on our hand printed/smeared window.  did you notice the "text me" heart? seriously?  this is our kiddo's generation.

and a special package filled with v-day goodies came in the mail for the kiddos from mema and gpa k.  my mom told me that grandpa (dad) picked them out this year.
i thought it was pretty sweet, and the kiddos loved them.

other things going on in our house, rain boots.  max went from wanting to wear his snow boots everywhere to the green rainboots.  he's very proud of them.

 play time

v-day cookies- can you tell which ones max and zoe decorated?

max figured out how to attach king louie's velcro hands all by himself,
so this is where king louie is often.

of all the pictures/crafts zoe has made, this monster she created is my most favorite.  she made the hair from colored paper clips.  i was so impressed.  i'm her mom, i can be very proud of these kind of things! :)

max has turned into a picky eater, but homemade waffles with peanut butter
and syrup are gobbled up fast!

love to come upon these rare moments: kids are quietly "reading" next to each other.
like i said, these are rare.
 dinner and a movie
