a few weeks ago

in a last minute trip we got to:
  1. go home to imperial to visit my healing sister cara, who had her appendix taken out in an emergency surgery.  praise God for a successful surgery and a now healed sister!
  2. see my baby sister courtney go to her junior prom.  how is she old enough to go to prom?  shouldn't she still be playing dress up in us older sisters' old prom dresses?
  3. ride along with bart to omaha for a quick work trip there and see the mccoy fam.  cousin fun was in fulll swing!
  4. meet and hold andrea' first precious baby, Jed.  heart melt.

we sisters got to help with prom hair/makeup too....courtney had 6 girls to primp for the prom!
it was a busy day!

aunts are so nice.  auntie caleeka gave zoe a taste of prom by putting some sparkle make up and crimping her hair!  zoe was in heaven.

and good thing MeMa has extra prom dresses for little people.
zoe hasn't gotten the memo yet that veils are for weddings, wands are for fairies, and the crooked smile she loves best aren't suited for prom.  oh well.  :)

hugs for the princess from papa

zoe wanted her picture with court.  when courtney's date arrived to pick court up, zoe asked us if she was going with them.  a girl can dream right!?! am i in trouble?! :)

 i'm not biased.  court's a beauty!

and they are off!

glad to see there are still gentleman in the world....or was this behavior encouraged since 3 sisters, the pops, and a brother in law was watching close by!?! :)

 enjoying the farm life

i was so impressed and proud of courtney's hard work.  she was the prom chair woman for decorating the prom.  2 thumbs up court!
at the promenade waiting for courtney to make her grand debut.  zoe kept calling all the prom girls princesses.   and yes, she changed yet again to wear her own "prom dress" to the promenade.

 there she is!  so pretty!

and on to omaha!  some of the cutie cousins out to eat at zio's.
mr. max.  max was a handful in omaha.  a handful is describing his behavior nicely.  we've had to do some hard core work with dealing with him now that we've been back home.   i've learned a lot, been wore out a lot, but still love this little guy a lot.  more on that later.

and as much as we loved seeing both sides of our families, the highlight of my trip was seeing these guys.  or should i say, meeting this little guy!

little jed is so perfect, and andrea fits into the mommy role so perfectly.  its such a blessing to watch your friends go through the miracle of birth and then raising a child.  andrea, so happy for you and dj, and excited for our little guys to be bestest buds.

isn't he soooo cute!  i can't tell yet who he favors more in looks.  either way, he's adorable!

that wraps up last minute get away.  so glad we went!
