december 2012

our first week of december was spent getting over the plague.  so the very day that we were all completely over it, we went to disney on ice's tangled show.  we didn't tell the kids till the day of just incase someone was still sick.  thankfully, we were in the clear! i couldn't WAIT to get out of the house!

zoe was THRILLED...and so was her doll Rapunzel :)

max was pretty excited too & actually really loved the show.  we were kind of worried it would be too "princessy" but it was very gender neutral friendly.  i would highly recommend the disney on ice shows.  this is our 2nd one & i'm impressed!

loved the lantern part

and all the princesses of course

right after the show

jude watched, nursed & slept through out the show.  he's a multi-tasker....more like I am a multi-tasker :)
bart made ginger cookies with the kids (a family favorite on his side)

and the kids & i decorated the tree & house....the process is such a mess

randomly zoe & max will pick up my camera & take pics...this one is max's

and this is zoe's...this pic cracks me up b/c i am having a "chat"
with max about throwing my glass ornaments.  oh max.

my "helpers"

we're done with the living room!

now onto the kid's tree in zoe's room

max was super excited about his mcqueen ornament

this year i let the kiddos decorate the tree all by themselves...lights, ribbon & all

zoe admiring her very first ornament....tear

'

meanwhile, jude just chilled out (yes, i like all things christmas...apparel & accessories included)

he loved gazing at the tree...we both did

zoe wearing her new pjs from her bday (she tried to wear these during the day as much as possible..."but mommy, its just like a dress, why can't i wear them all day?!"

and max prefers his briefs :)

with a matching hat of course

this tractor is well loved

coloring christmas sheets

since we were going to be out of town on the actual christmas eve & day, we decided to let the kids open a few presents a couple nights before we left.  *best idea we've come up with! seems kind of silly to open a bunch a presents at once when only 1 or 2 gets picked to play with majority of the time. this way, the gift was played with way more!

we got them each a dvd (for the trip home of course) :)

max's lorax dvd came with a sweet stache

even jude had a gift

jude's view

jude hanging out while i was stripping the bed to do laundry.
( i HATE doing bedding laundry.  it seriously takes all day long!)

my lil buddy

zoe's plane she made by herself...we were impressed.
proud parents...check.

auntie cailyn & uncle paul came to celebrate zoe's bday with us.
her actual bday party gets its own post to come.

cailyn is such a great aunt to our kiddos & that warms my heart

jude lovin on his blankie ahma made for him

zoe found her beloved "puffer" the penguin so bart was putting on a little show for the kiddos at dinner one night...even i was entertained.

you know how you have all the great ideas you're going to do with your family& kiddos to celebrate xmas, (advent calendar, special crafts, baking, etc.) well, i had them too.
but our family got sick.  zoe's bday was celebrated.  christmas shopping was being done.
so we had very limited "special activities" this christmas season.
one of the activities i did get done was wrapping up all our kid christmas books so we could unwrap them each night & read them by the tree.  the kids really did love it
& would ask all day when we were going to open the next book up.  i did buy 2 new christmas books to add to our collection, but all the rest were ones we already had.  this is for sure a new family tradition for us!  (p.s. i got this idea from a friend, who most likely got it from pinterest...she's an addict! :) You are supposed to do it all of December till Christmas, but we only did it for 2 weeks.)

zoe "reading" a christmas book to max

so that's our month of december....EXCEPT the Christmas Celebration part.  I think that is going to take 3 posts.  SOOO MANY PICS....SO MUCH FUN WAS HAD!
